Amy and Miles - Married February 13, 2025

This love story begins at The Candlelight Inn, a cozy spot that's buzzing with the chatter of Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts. It's a typical D&D meetup, but for Miles Dobry, it's a whole new world. He's not just a stranger to this group, but to the whole idea of mingling with people he's never met before. He's a ball of nerves, fidgeting with his dice and glancing around the room.

At the far end of the table, a woman captures his attention. She's not hard to notice, what with her goth lipstick and the air of confidence that surrounds her. Her name? Well, it's complicated. She goes by Amy Estes, Raven Morrigansdotter, and Ishtar Aladeen.  An interesting trio of names that add to her captivating aura.  On the other end, Amy, or Raven, or Ishtar, is also sizing up Miles. She finds him unusually quiet. He's not the chatty type, unlike the others around the table. But what really strikes her is his stunning looks. She thinks he's beautiful. Yet, there's this... something about him. It's a mystery that tantalizes her, but she can't quite put her finger on what exactly it is.

As the game rolls on, the two steal glances at each other. Miles, with his heart pounding hard in his chest, is equally intrigued and intimidated by the goth-lipsticked woman. Amy, on the other hand, is trying to decipher the quiet, handsome stranger. There's an air of uncertainty around them, a tension that's both exciting and nerve-racking. They're both on a journey, trying to figure out the other, trying to understand the strange pull they feel. And so, through the roll of dice and the clatter of tankards, a unique love story begins to unfold. The journey isn't without its bumps, especially with the pair's contrasting personalities. But as Miles and Amy find out, that's what makes it all the more interesting.

Amy, or Raven, or Ishtar, however you want to call her, decides to shake things up a bit. She invites Miles over to her house for a solo D&D campaign. It's a bold move, considering they've only just met. But she's got this feeling about him. Something about Miles is making her take this leap of faith. Miles, on the other hand, is flabbergasted. He can't believe his luck. The intriguing woman with three names, the woman who has been occupying his thoughts, has just asked him over to her house. It's a dream come true, but it's also nerve-wracking. He feels a rush of excitement mixed with a good dose of nervousness. Yet, he's eager to take the plunge into this new adventure.

The day of the solo campaign arrives. Miles shows up at Amy's doorstep, clutching his D&D manual like a lifeline. His heart is racing, his palms are sweaty, but he's got a smile plastered on his face. He's ready to dive into the world of dragons and dungeons, but more importantly, he's ready to know more about the woman behind the trio of names. Amy, dressed in her usual goth attire, welcomes Miles with a warm smile. Her house is a reflection of her - vibrant, unique, and full of character. They settle down for the game, and as the hours roll by, they find themselves caught up in a world of their own. As they navigate through the imaginary world of D&D, they also navigate through the real world of their emotions. Amy is charmed by Miles' authenticity. He's not pretending to be someone else, he's just being himself - shy, a bit awkward, but utterly genuine. Miles, in turn, is enamored by Amy's passion. Her eyes light up as she talks about the game, her gestures animated with excitement. He finds her authenticity refreshing. She's not afraid to show her love for the game, her enthusiasm is infectious, and he finds himself falling for her. And just like that, the solo campaign turns into a bonding session. It's a day filled with laughter, shared stories, and a growing affection for each other.

They're learning more about each other, peeling off layers, and discovering the person beneath the surface. The uncertainty is still there, but it's slowly being replaced by a comfortable familiarity.

And that date leads to the next, and soon Miles Dobry and Amy Estes, Raven Morrigansdotter, Ishtar Aladeen. Yep... all 3. are building a life and a future together.

Today is a special day. Miles and Amy are at an art gallery with their parents. It's not just any art gallery, but an interactive one with a digital spray paint exhibit. They both love art, and this is a perfect day out for them. But there's more to this day than meets the eye. Miles has a big plan. He's been thinking about it for a long time. He's going to propose to Amy. Yes, you heard it right! He's going to ask the woman with three names, the woman who has captured his heart, to marry him. He's a bundle of nerves, his heart pounding like a drum. But he's also excited. He can't wait to start this new chapter of their lives. But here's the twist. Amy has the same idea! She's also planning to propose to Miles. She's been thinking about it for the longest time. She's chosen this day, at this art gallery, to pop the question. She's got butterflies in her stomach; her adrenaline is through the roof. But she's also thrilled. She can't wait to see the look on Miles' face. Amy makes the first move. She talks to the attendant, and gets the wall cleared. It's just them now. She gets down on one knee, takes a deep breath, and writes on the wall MARRY ME? The words hang in the air, a question that's both exciting and nerve-wracking. Miles is taken aback. He's surprised, but in a good way. His heart swells with happiness. He looks at Amy, at the woman who has become his world. And then, he does what he's been wanting to do. He says Yes. His voice is firm, his eyes shining with love. And just like that, they're engaged. Amy is over the moon, her heart singing with joy. Miles is equally happy, his face glowing with love. Their parents are thrilled, their faces beaming with pride. It's a day of love, a day of happiness, a day they'll remember forever. They've come a long way, from that first D&D meetup to this day at the art gallery. They've gone through uncertainties, faced challenges, and discovered new things about each other. But, through it all, they've grown closer, their love stronger.

They look at each other, their eyes filled with love, their hearts filled with joy.

And here they are today, ready to start a new chapter of their lives together.

They did it! Can we give it up for Amy and Miles? This is a beautiful story; it’s a story of two people who moved from stealing glances, to a "great minds think alike" marriage proposal, and standing up here with us today.

It’s because of the moments in this story and many others that Miles can say of Amy, when I asked him what he loves about her:

Her dedication to helping others; her passion for the things she loves. Her boundless love. How she allows herself to be vulnerable around me and trusts me with all her heart. How she loves all of me and makes me feel safe and unafraid to be myself.

And Amy says of Miles, when I asked her what she loves about him:

I love so many things about him. Obviously, he's beautiful on the outside, but also he's beautiful on the inside. After years of being the one who takes care of my partners, he equally takes care of me back if not more! I love that he is thoughtful and introspective. He is smart and funny and silly, and he brings out all the silliness in me too. But I think my two most loved of his traits are his trustworthiness and his vulnerability. I have never once had reason to doubt his honesty or integrity. He is an open book to me. All I have to do is ask. I even have a fingerprint unlock on his phone!

Now, Amy and Miles are in love, and two people in love do tend to gush about each other. But it’s the opinions of family and friends that are perhaps a bit more objective. Well, I asked a few friends and family about Amy and Miles - a few of you here today - a few of the people who love Amy and Miles most. Here’s what you had to say:

“Raven and Miles are joyous together! I have known Miles since elementary school, so I know what it takes for him to open up and fully be himself. Together they are utterly themselves. Happy and in love.”
