Sarah & Andrew Married April 26, 2025 Los Encinos in San Antonio
Well, Friends and Family, we know that Sarah and Andrew are here today to get married and that they are perfect for each other. (Can I get a “heck yeah?”)
Friends, how did we end up here today? How did these two people somehow not only end up meeting, but also end up falling in love and choosing to spend the rest of their lives together? Well, I’d like to spend the next few minutes telling you a true version of how that happened.
This love story begins the way all great 21st century stories begin --- he swipes right!
It's the chilly early days of November 2015. Andrew, a shy but undeniably handsome man, is nervously preparing for a date. It's not just any date, but one with a woman he met on the dating app, Tinder. Her name is Sarah. He's intrigued by her profile and her beautiful blue eyes that sparkled in her profile picture. He's interested, yes, but also very nervous
On the other side of town, Sarah is also getting ready for the date. She's excited, her heart racing a bit as she applies her lipstick. She had found Andrew very handsome on his profile and she's definitely interested in getting to know him better.
She decides to meet him at the Pilot down the road from her house. Andrew drives up to the Pilot and parks his truck. He looks around, but doesn't see Sarah anywhere. He takes out his phone and starts to text her, asking where she is. Just as he's about to hit send, his truck door flings open and in jumps Sarah! She looks even more stunning in person, her blue eyes shining brighter than in her picture. Andrew is startled, not expecting someone to just jump into his truck. But he's also amazed at her fearlessness. 'This can't be real life,' he thinks to himself.
Sarah laughs at Andrew's surprise. She likes his shyness, it's endearing. She's also glad to see that he's as handsome in person as he was in his profile picture. She's definitely interested in getting to know him better.
And so, their first date begins, filled with laughter, a bit of surprise, and the hint of a growing attraction. Both Andrew and Sarah are excited, nervous, and curious to see where this date will lead.
Edit ImageAndrew and Sarah are now at the Red Robin, a lively place buzzing with people. Andrew, being the gentleman that he is, opens the door for Sarah. They head inside, and the aroma of delicious food fills their noses. They're seated at a cozy table for two, and they start to look over the menus. As they wait for their food, they talk. Andrew is a great listener, and Sarah finds herself sharing about her life, her dreams, and her love for movies.
Andrew is equally open, and Sarah is intrigued by his stories, his honesty, and his quiet strength. Soon, their food arrives, and they dig in. The food is tasty, and the conversation is even better. Both Andrew and Sarah are smiling, laughing, and thoroughly enjoying each other's company. Sarah is pleasantly surprised by how well the date is going, and Andrew is equally pleased.
After dinner, they decide to go watch a movie. “Deep Water Horizon” is playing, and they both agree to watch it. As they sit in the dark theater, Sarah can't help but feel a spark of excitement. Andrew, though still a bit shy, feels the same. The movie is intense, but the real thrill for both of them is sitting next to each other, sharing this experience.
As the movie ends, they walk out of the theater, both of them a bit quiet. It's not an awkward silence, but rather a comfortable one, filled with unspoken words and shared feelings. They agree that the movie was great, and they both had a great time. Before they even part ways, they're already planning their next date. They're not sure what they'll do or where they'll go, but they're both looking forward to it.
And that date leads to the next, and soon Andrew and Sarah are building a life and a future together.
Andrew and Sarah have planned a trip together. They are an hour down the road when Andrew suddenly says he has to turn around and go back! He's forgotten something! Sarah is a bit put out - this pushes their arrival back by two hours! He won't even tell her what he forgot!
After that delay, they finally arrive at the Golden Nugget in Louisiana. They're strolling down to the end of the pier, watching the boats go by, keeping their eyes peeled for any turtles. The air is filled with anticipation, and Sarah has no idea what's coming.
Suddenly, Andrew stops in his tracks. He takes a deep breath, looks at Sarah, and drops to one knee. Sarah's eyes widen in surprise as he begins to speak. He tells her how much he loves her, how he can't imagine his life without her. He asks her to make him the happiest man in the world. The words are out, and he's so nervous that he almost puts the ring on the wrong finger!
Edit ImageSarah is shocked, but in the best way possible. She's jumping up and down with excitement, almost pushing them both over the pier. Andrew's heartfelt words have touched her deeply. She hears him ask her to marry him, right there on the pier next to the Golden Nugget. She's so excited, she can barely contain herself.
A crowd has gathered around them, and there's a round of cheers as Sarah says yes. Andrew is a bit shy with all the attention, but he's grinning from ear to ear. He slips the ring onto Sarah's finger, and they hug and kiss, their joy clear for everyone to see. Sarah can't believe it. She's engaged to the man she loves, the man who turned around an hour into their drive because he had forgotten the ring. The man who made them two hours late, but she didn't care because it was all for her dream ring.
The excitement of the moment begins to settle, and they both take a moment to soak it all in. They're engaged, ready to start the next chapter of their lives together. They're learning more about each other every day, and can't wait to see where their journey takes them.
And here we are today.
They did it! Can we give it up for Sarah and Andrew?
