Kendall Point Sees Cristina and Chris's Love Story

From a Dating-App Match to “Foreverty”: Cristina and Chris’s Love Story

Some love stories begin with perfect timing. Cristina and Chris’s story began with Cristina already running one day behind schedule.

On August 1, 2020, Cristina Jimenez set a goal for herself: she was going to rejoin the dating world. It was a clear and perfectly reasonable goal. There was just one little problem. She did not actually create a dating profile.

The following day, Cristina visited her friend Edna and announced that she had already failed. One day into this new chapter, and she was one day late.

Luckily, Edna was not about to let a 24-hour delay turn into a permanent retreat. She encouraged Cristina to create the profile right then and there.

That very same day, Cristina matched with Chris Jimenez.

They began chatting and continued talking throughout the week. By Friday, August 7, they were ready to meet in person. Chris asked Cristina to dinner, and Cristina chose El Mirasol for their first date.

Chris is a very punctual person.

Cristina was late.

Admittedly, she was only about three to five minutes late, which is less “late” and more a brief disagreement with the clock. Still, Chris noticed. Cristina had been one day late creating her dating profile, and now she was a few minutes late for their first date. A pattern was forming, but fortunately, every delay seemed to lead her directly to Chris.

When Cristina arrived, Chris greeted her with a smile, a hug, and flowers.

His first impression of her could be summed up in one word: wow.

Cristina noticed Chris’s great smile immediately. She thought he was sweet, and something about him seemed to radiate joy and happiness. The flowers made an impression, too. To this day, Cristina remembers them as one of the sweetest parts of that first date.

Then they started talking.

And they kept talking until El Mirasol closed.

Apparently, even the best first dates must eventually leave the restaurant.

Cristina and Chris got into their separate cars and headed home. As it happened, they lived in the same direction.

Cristina turned. Chris turned.

Cristina turned again. Chris turned again.

After enough matching turns, Chris began worrying that Cristina thought he was following her. Cristina, meanwhile, was thinking that Chris was following her.

It was an unexpectedly awkward ending to an otherwise wonderful first date: flowers, hours of conversation, and what appeared to be a slow-speed pursuit through the streets.

Thankfully, their routes eventually separated, and no awkward explanation was required that night.

The date had gone so well that they saw each other again on Saturday. Then they got together again on Sunday. One first date had quietly turned into an entire weekend, and that dating-app match began becoming something much more meaningful.

As the dates continued, Cristina and Chris built a life and a future together.

On December 30, 2024, Chris had already been trying to propose for some time. He had considered one location and then another, but something always seemed to get in the way. Life has a way of doing that, especially when someone is searching for the perfect moment and place to ask one very important question.

Eventually, Chris decided he did not want to wait for life to cooperate anymore.

They were at home with their dogs when Chris told Cristina the truth: life kept getting in the way, but he did not want to wait any longer.

Then, in their bedroom, he asked Cristina to marry him.

She said yes.

Chris might have originally imagined something grander, but for Cristina, the proposal was absolutely perfect. It was private and personal. They were at home, surrounded by their dogs and the life they had already created together.

That life brought them to their wedding day, where their family and friends gathered to witness the promises inspired by their love story.

The ceremony reflected who Cristina and Chris are as a couple. It was romantic, personal, meaningful, and filled with humor. From references to their accidental first-date car chase to vows about choosing what to eat, finding misplaced phones, sharing snacks, managing thermostat settings, and assembling furniture without losing their sanity, the ceremony celebrated both the significance of marriage and the everyday moments that make a partnership real.

Cristina and Chris also included a ring-warming ceremony, giving their families an opportunity to hold their wedding rings before the exchange. The tradition symbolizes unity, love, and community. It recognizes that while marriage is a commitment between two people, it is also strengthened by the encouragement and support of those who love them.

That support was especially meaningful because the people closest to Cristina and Chris had watched their relationship grow. From the beginning, their connection seemed natural. Even before the first date, there was excitement and a sense that their meeting might become something important.

Once they were together, they fit so seamlessly that it seemed as if they had known each other for years. What began as an online match during an uncertain time became an unmistakable connection between two people who make each other happy, balance one another, share the same goals, and deeply value family and friendship.

Chris describes Cristina as a fierce protector of the people she loves. She stands up for them without hesitation, and he feels fortunate to receive that same love and loyalty. Knowing she will always be in his corner gives him peace and confidence.

At a networking event, Chris was once asked to name his happy place. Other people named beaches or favorite vacations. As he considered his answer, he realized that his happy place was simply wherever Cristina was.

He knew he wanted to marry her because she was his best friend, his greatest supporter, and the person who made every day better just by being part of it. There was no other future he wanted besides the one they would build together.

Cristina describes Chris as smart, funny, handsome, thoughtful, supportive, and, above all, kind. He genuinely considers other people and looks for ways to help because that is simply who he is. He loves and uplifts her, and she is grateful every day that he is in her life.

Cristina had never considered marriage one of her goals. Before meeting Chris, the idea felt intimidating. She would watch wedding shows and hear brides describe their fiancés as their best friends or say they could not wait to spend the rest of their lives together. Cristina wondered how anyone could be so certain that they had found their person.

Then she met Chris.

She finally understood because she had found hers.

During their ceremony, Cristina and Chris promised to join their lives, support each other’s dreams, offer comfort during difficult times, grow together in love and patience, and continue choosing one another every day.

Their guests also made a promise. They agreed to encourage Cristina and Chris in their commitment, celebrate the good times, console them during the difficult ones, love them as both a couple and as individuals, and support them throughout their adventure of life, love, and marriage.

After exchanging vows and rings, Cristina and Chris were pronounced husband and wife in front of their closest family and friends.

Then came their kiss and their joyful reintroduction as Mr. and Mrs. Jimenez.

Cristina and Chris’s story is a reminder that the perfect beginning does not require perfect timing. Sometimes it begins one day late. Sometimes it includes a date who arrives a few minutes behind schedule. Sometimes the romantic drive home looks suspiciously like two people following each other.

And sometimes the perfect proposal happens at home, in the life two people have already built together.

Cristina and Chris found their best friend, their favorite person, and their happy place in one another. Now, surrounded by the people who love them, they have promised to continue strengthening that bond wherever life takes them.

Here’s to Cristina and Chris, and to a lifetime of laughter, love, loyalty, shared snacks, everyday adventures, and “foreverty” together.
